Val d'isère and its villages
At the gates of the Vanoise National Park and at the top of the Tarentaise valley, perches the authentic and mythical village of Val d'Isère. In winter, the resort is known worldwide for being the essential resort of the French alpine landscape and its effervescence resonates in every pretty corner of this village.
In the summer season, calm returns to this Savoyard village which takes on its beautiful summer reliefs.
The village of Val d'isère located at 1800m is made up of several villages:
- La Daille: located at the entrance to Val d'Isère, this is a group of residences 2km from the center of the village.
- Le val-village:situated over just over a kilometer long, the center is a gift for lovers of architecture: between the stone, wood and slate of the chalets, one can only contemplate the beauty of the buildings which have remained faithful to traditional rural architecture. At its heart stands the stone church dating from the 11th century. Simple and majestic at the same time, the latter punctuates the lives of the avalins with the seasons.
- Le Fornet: At the very bottom of the valley is Le Fornet, an authentc hamlet mainly made up of stone chalets. Small quiet corner of Val d'Isère is the perfect mix between calm and authenticity.
