The Doron de Bozel river, the nature river 🌱

The Doron de Bozel river, the nature river 🌱

«Doron» means «torrent» in Savoyard dialect. This river, the «Torrent de Bozel» stems from the melting of 2 glaciers, the Vanoise glacier and the Grande Casse glacier, near Pralognan-en-Vanoise.
This narrower and more manoeuvring river than the Isère, offers a navigation full of sensation and a total change of scenery, only in the world on the glacial water of the Alps. Rafting and kaya ky are the 2 activities practiced (kayaking on the Doron de Bozel is reserved for experienced professionals).
Between May and mid-July, the river melts significantly affect the water level, so we find rather high water levels that offer a more sporty and eventful navigation.

So what are the differences and which river to choose?

The Isère river offers longer routes, including one of the longest in France, La grande Descente, 2h15 navigation!
This river with regulated water flow also has more points of departure and arrival (embarkation and disembarkation), so it allows more varied routes and adapted to the ages of each.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 And yes, on the Isère, rafting begins as early as 6 years, with the BABY rafting (it is a family experience where parents must be present to live this moment, with family).

The Doron de Bozel, allows to have an even more immersive experience, There are very few practitioners on this river, which leaves us a feeling of adventure, as if we were going to discover a lost, wild river.
With fewer departures and stops possible, there are 2 minimum ages to respect. 8 years for discoveries in families, or 15 years for longer descents and a little more sporty. 🌊
