This summit, famous for its accessibility for beginner mountaineers, will immerse you in an ascent in the Valle d'Aosta. It allows an excellent acclimatization and a good introduction to the use mountaineering equipment before a possible ascent of Mont Blanc.
Your program:
Day 1: Departure around 10:30 am from Chamonix to reach Valsavarenche in Italy via the Mont-Blanc tunnel (about 1h30 drive). Ascent to the Chabod refuge (2730m) at the foot of the north face of the Gran Paradiso.
Day 2: Early departure for the ascent of Gran Paradiso via the Laveccio glacier (about 5 hours). Descent into the Valley via the Victor Emmanuel refuge (2750m).
This program can be modified according to the conditions and the level of the participants.

- Technical equipment : 45 Litre backpack, mountaineering boots, crampons, walking poles, ice pick, climbing harness and a helmet (these items can be rented at our partner sport store : Sanglard
- Clothing : hiking pants, winter jacket, thin fleece jacket, windproof jacket, gloves, balaclava / beanie, pair of tights, long sleeve T-shirt, underwear, socks and changing clothes...
- Additional equipment : Sunglasses, sunscreen, food and drinks, headlamp, sleeping bag, first-aid kit, toiletries kit, ski mask.
- Ropes and safety equipment.
Insurance: Insurance is strongly recommended. There are 2 types of individual insurance to which you can subscribe when finalising your reservation (or in our offices).
1. Cancellation:
- This insurance covers you in the event of illness or accident preventing you from participating in your sporting activity (this must be certified by a doctor).
- All COVID related causes are excluded.
2. Assursport in case of an accident:
- Assursport covers you for up to €25,000 for rescue costs in the event of a sporty activity accident.
- No advance payment required for rescue services, including medical repatriation.
- Sporty activity refunded up to the value of 400€
- Ideal period: from June to September
- Three conditions to be met to optimize your chances of success: favorable weather, good physical condition, flexibility in the program (the latter is likely to change if another climb proves to be more suitable).
- Climbing a summit above 4000m requires being in very good physical condition. It is therefore necessary to partake a regular physical activity: running, cycling...
- Our priority is your safety. We will make sure you achieve your objectives as well as the quality and relationship between you and your guide.
- If you do not reach the top, no refund can be requested.
- If the weather is unfavorable, the guide will suggest another summit but you will not be able to claim any compensation.
